I grew up building houses with my family in South Carolina, moved to Spain at 10 and learned Spanish there. I studied Government at Harvard, then spent two years in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, working with villages on cookstoves, latrines and clean water.

I came to Austin in 1993 for the LBJ School of Public Affairs and spent the next decade in public service, from water quality on the border to running public outreach for the transit agency. In 2005 I got my real estate license, and later co-founded Juice Real Estate Group, which joined Compass in 2019.

I've been investing in Austin rentals since 1995. That led to RAM Austin Property Management, which I've run for [X] years and which now manages 375 homes. My son Niko works with me there.

What this means for you: I look at a house the way an owner does, not just a buyer or seller. I can spot the foundation issue, price the roof and tell you what it would rent for, before you sign anything. I negotiate with that knowledge (I'm a Certified Negotiation Expert), and I explain every step in plain English or Spanish.

Outside work, my wife Wren and I walk our dogs Ripple and Pearl around Hyde Park, where I help coordinate the Friends of Shipe Park. I support Foundation Communities and am training as a CASA volunteer for Spanish-speaking children.
